Mark Herrmann

Bio

Mark Herrmann has been at Newsday since 1983, has covered the Mets and Yankees since 1988, and has been Newsday’s national golf writer since 2002. A former Mets beat reporter, he has covered baseball's special events, including the World Series, All-Star Game and Mark McGwire's home run record chase, and was vice chairman of the New York chapter of the Baseball Writers Association of America.

At Newsday, he also has been a news reporter covering Brookhaven and Southampton towns; a high school sports columnist, Islanders beat reporter and Olympic hockey writer. He is former Long Island chapter chairman of the Professional Hockey Writers Association.
