  • Jacobs, Ross put on IR

We knew Brandon Jacobs' season was over yesterday when the Giants announced that he would have surgery on his knee. And we figured Aaron Ross' season was over when he was unable to overcome the latest of his hamstring issues that popped up two weeks ago.

Well, today it's officially official. Both Jacobs and Ross were put on injured reserve.

They were replaced on the roster by two practice squaders, QB Rhett Bomar and safety Sha'reff Rashad.

And in turn, those two were replaced on the practice squad by offensive lineman Rueben Riley and receiver Bruce Francis.

As for today's practice, there were four players on the exercise bikes, three of which were expected: Kareem McKenzie, Corey Webster and Ahmad Bradshaw. The one surprise was Justin Tuck, who was not practicing. Tuck did not appear on the injury report yesterday, so we're waiting to see what his issue is. More than likely it's the shoulder that's been bugging him all year, but it could be something else. Also, Chris Canty, who injured his knee late in yesterday's practice, was not in the fieldhouse for today's workout.
