Tyler Sash suspended; yet another hit to secondary
The Giants’ secondary took another hit today, this time with the suspension of safety Tyler Sash for the first four games of the season. In a statement, the NFL said Sash violated the league’s policy on performance enhancing substances. He’ll be eligible to participate in all of the preseason, but once the regular season starts he will not be eligible until Monday, October 1, following the team’s... » more

Perry Fewell resists the 'simple' explanation
One of the things we heard over and over again during the Giants’ Super Bowl run was that the team made the defense simpler and they responded with a six-game winning streak and a championship.
Quietly, along that run, Perry Fewell was resisting that notion of simplicity. His message may have simplified – do what I tell you and we’ll win – but his schemes, he noted, did not. Yesterday he again... » more

Jerry Jones wants some Giants tail
On the same day that Justin Tuck told out Bob Glauber that the Giants are "probably the least talked about Super Bowl champion ever," guess who was actually talking about them?
None other than Cowboys owner Jerry Jones.
The sheriff was addressing fans during a ceremony to celebrate the start of Cowboys training camp yesterday when he reportedly told them: "Y'all should... » more

Kuhn keeps tabs on Germany, but main focus is on football
I just caught a glimpse of the U.S.-Germany men’s volleyball match from the Olympics and I can’t help but wonder if somewhere in Albany Markus Kuhn is hearing it from his teammates.
The rookie defensive tackle was born and raised in Germany and told me yesterday that even though he doesn’t have a television in his dorm room at training camp he’s still keeping up to date with how his country... » more

Tracy trying to be the new Dave
In an NFL training camp, one man’s loss is another’s opportunity. And so it has been for the last few days for Adrian Tracy, the Giants’ sixth round pick in 2010 who has yet to play in a regular season game but has looked good in the few early practices this season. With Justin Trattou injuring his ankle, Tracy has picked up some extra snaps and has emerged in the battle for the last defensive end... » more

Austin was ready for 'grown man ball'
Some people jump out of bed in the morning if they have something exciting to do that day. Then there are people like Marvin Austin who never make it to the bed from the night before.
The defensive tackle told Giants.com that he was so thrilled about yesterday’s first contact practice – the team was in helmets and shoulder pads – that he slept on the floor the previous night.
“My bed’s... » more

Osi not thinking about the future in possible last season with Giants
Osi Umenyiora was wistful about his possible last days with the Giants during the Super Bowl run. Now, in what may be his last training camp with the only NFL team he's ever known, the defensive end has turned off the sentimentality.
"I don’t do that any more," he said. "The one thing I did learn about last year is it doesn’t matter what you think, there’s really no telling... » more

Practice Report: JPP gets mad, NASCAR makes its debut, Hosley gets cut
While we wait for the MRI results on Terrell Thomas, here is today’s practice report.
First, some good injury news. Da’Rel Scott became the first Giants player this season to return from an injury. He had missed two practices with an ankle injury but today he was dressed in helmet and shoulder pads like the rest of the team and participating fully.
Obviously the four guys on PUP did... » more
