Slayton House Camp of the Arts is accepting registration for its musical theater camp for children who have completed full-day kindergarten and those in grades 1-7.

Camp dates are June 16 through July 3, July 7-25, and July 28 through Aug. 8.

Wills services offered to seniors

Attorney Stephen R. Elville will be at the Bain Center, 5470 Ruth Keeton Way, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. May 21 for the 60-Plus Wills and Legal Screening Program.

Services offered include simple wills, powers of attorney, living wills, small estates and deed changes. The program is open to Howard County residents, ages 60 and older. The cost is on a sliding scale.

The 60 Plus Wills and Legal Screening Program is available to all Howard County residents ages 60 and older on the third Wednesday of each month. It is sponsored by the Howard County Department of Citizen Services' Office on Aging.

An appointment is required, and should be scheduled well in advance.

'Summer Reading' is book club topic

The Central Library's Noontime Central book club will meet at noon Thursday to discuss Summer Reading: A Novel by Hilma Wolitzer.

The group meets on the third Thursday of each month.

At library // The Central Library is offering "Spring into Science," a program for children ages 3 to 6 with an adult, at 10 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. Tuesdays, through May 27. The program explores simple scientific concepts and experiments inspired by children's literature. Registration is required.

• A "Children's Book Week Celebration," when children ages 3 and older can come disguised as their favorite children's book character, is offered at 2 p.m. Friday, when Howard County schools are closed. Stories, crafts and a parade are planned. Registration is required. 410-313-7860.

Senior Wii club // Howard County Department of Recreation and Parks will offer a Wii Club for seniors, ages 55 and older, at 10 a.m. Tuesdays at the Bain Center. Participants can improve hand-eye coordination and get some exercise while competing against their peers in the interactive video game. The first game is free. To register: 410-313-7320.

Mah-jongg // Those ages 18 or older are invited to Slayton House in Wilde Lake Village Center for mah-jongg at 10 a.m. Wednesdays. Admission is free. Participants are invited to bring a game and attend with a friend. 410-730-3987.

Student art // The art department at Howard Community College is presenting its spring student art exhibit at the Rouse Company Foundation Gallery in the college's Horowitz Center, 10901 Little Patuxent Parkway. The exhibit includes work by two students selected from each class -- a total of about 80 paintings, drawings, photographs, graphic designs, sculpture and ceramics. Marionette show // The Rainbow Theatre at Slayton House in the Wilde Lake Village Green will conclude its season with a performance of The Teddy Bear's Picnic, by Bob Brown Puppets, on Friday. The story is presented with marionettes, music sound effects, and a range of characters' voices. Performances are at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Tickets are $5 in advance; $6 at the door, if available. Water park // The Columbia Association will celebrate the opening of the newly renovated Mini WaterPark with a party from noon to 4 p.m. May 31. The grand opening celebration will include music, games, food and give-aways and is open to everyone. Each person who attends will receive a ticket for a free hot dog, snow cone, popcorn or soda.
