Topic Galleries Frequently Asked Questions
What are Topic Galleries?
Topic galleries are a great resource when you want to know more about a particular person, place, event, organization or subject. Topic galleries give you quick access to articles and photos on a topic from across all Tribune Company newspaper websites. Catch up with your favorite sports team or entertainer, or read background information about a local politician. Topic galleries are automatically updated throughout the day and night.

How can I see more topics?
Throughout this site, you'll see links to topic galleries within the text of articles. You can also browse topics at amNY.com/topic. Here's an example of how links to the topic galleries for Manhattan, real estate, SoHo, Tribeca, and the Upper West Side might look in a story:
Manhattan's hot real estate market just seems to defy the laws of gravity, with prices continuing to climb in neighborhoods like SoHo, Tribeca, and the Upper East Side despite a drop in housing prices nationwide.
Once you're in a topic gallery, just click on "Top" above the title of the topic gallery to find the index of all topics. We'll soon be adding a Top Topics list so you can see what other people are looking at, too.
What's the difference between a topic gallery and a keyword search?
Plenty. Topic galleries use an advanced search methodology that sifts through the rich newspaper content in all Tribune Company newspapers to give you just what you're looking for. The intelligent analysis driving topic galleries is much more than just a keyword match; the analysis determines what each article is about and automatically associates it to one or more topics.
Where does the content for topic galleries come from?
From amNY.com, and all the other newspaper sites in the Tribune Company network. This includes articles and photos from the newspaper staff as well as newswire services.
What else can I see on topic galleries besides articles?
You'll see articles and photos. Soon you'll also be able to find videos, blogs, user-submitted photos and more!
