• Sugarbush ski report and snow conditions
Sugarbush has always been a big mountain -- in fact, two big mountains, Mount Ellen and Lincoln Peak, known as "north" and "south" respectively. And it has always skied big as well, with a whopping 43 percent of its terrain (rated No. 2 in the East for "variety" and No. 5 for "challenge") devoted to advanced skiers. But for years Sugarbush's owners have let the mountain wag the resort in terms of upkeep, with the predictable sag in popularity.
Recent new developments, particularly at Lincoln Peak, have reversed the trend and won back supporters. Hard-core skiers will be ecstatic, but "the Bush's" isolated location continues to make it a poor choice for those who insist upon having as much fun off the slopes as on them.
