A-Rod is trying to cut a deal: Report
Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez is considering striking a plea deal in an attempt to avoid receiving a lifetime ban, according to the Daily News.
A-Rod met with MLB officials on Friday and viewed the evidence the league had acquired in its Biogenesis investigation.
Rodriguez’s best-case scenario is that he is suspended for 150 games, which could put the remainder of his career in jeopardy, the Daily News reports.
MLB is believed to have considerable evidence against Rodriguez — including testimony from Biogenesis founder Anthony Bosch — that Rodriguez had repeatedly violated MLB’s drug policy by taking performance-enhancing substances over a number of seasons.
