Adam Mayes believes kidnapped girls are his, his mother-in-law says
A Mississippi fugitive may mistakenly believe he is the father of the two girls he is accused of abducting, his mother-in-law told ABC's "Good Morning America" on Thursday.
Authorities are searching for Adam Mayes, who has been charged in the killing of the mother of the girls, Jo Ann Bain, and her 14-year-old daughter, Adrienne, in Tennessee.
Mayes and his wife, Teresa, have each been charged with two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of especially aggravated kidnapping. Mayes also faces an additional count of making a false report, CNN reported.
The FBI added Mayes to its Ten Most Wanted list Wednesday, offering a $100,000 reward for a break in the case.
