Amanda Bynes' hip-hop record deal: Will she take it?
Amanda Bynes isn’t crazy or a drug addict, she’s just hip-hop, according to a New York record label.
Chinga Chang Records has officially offered the former Nickelodeon star a record deal to release her first rap album.
"She's phenomenal and that's the crazy thing about this," Daniel Herman, CEO of Chinga Chang Records, told The Huffington Post. "This is the perfect home. This isn't just a gimmick."
Although 27-year-old Bynes hasn’t accepted the offer, Herman is confident that he’ll have her as a client soon.
To secure the offer, Herman first had to get approval from The Orchard and Sony Entertainment and then propose the deal to Bynes’s attorney in Los Angeles.
“I grew up with Nick and the orange couch. I know she has talent. I've heard her sing when she was younger. I wanna get her in the cutting room in NYC and see what she has. Why the hell not,” Herman told HuffPost. Herman also compared the star to rapper Drake, saying that she "represents hip-hop a lot better than Drake."
This isn’t the first time Bynes is considering joining the world of rap. The actress recently told TMZ that she turned down a job offer with Playboy Radio to focus on her rap career.
