In a new twist to the NHL All-Star Game, fan-elected captains Eric Staal and Nicklas Lidstrom will pick their rosters playground-style before Sunday’s showcase in Raleigh, N.C. (4 p.m. on VERSUS). We rounded up amNewYork’s finest (and only) two hockey aficionados to play captain for an afternoon. After a back-and-forth selection process, here are their All-Star starting lineups:

    The picks

Pick 1 (Scott A. Rosenburg): Steve Stamkos, C, Tampa Bay
Pick 2 (Pete Catapano): Alexander Ovechkin, LW, Washington
Pick 3: Daniel Sedin, LW, Vancouver
Pick 4: Martin St. Louis, RW, Tampa Bay
Pick 5: Kris Letang, D, Pittsburgh
Pick 6: Dan Boyle, D, San Jose
Pick 7: Henrik Lundqvist, G, Rangers
    Pick 8: Marc-Andre Fleury, G, Pittsburgh
Pick 9: Corey Perry, RW, Anaheim
Pick 10: Zdeno Chara, D, Boston

Scott's last pick: Patrik Elias, LW, Devils: Considering how the season has gone in New Jersey, it seemed appropriate to have the Devils player in last place.

Pete's last pick: Kevin Shattenkirk, D, Colorado: Even though his name is a William Shatner-Captain Kirk hybrid, I have to pass — until he’s the last player available.

    Scott’s lineup

    C: Steve Stamkos
    LW: Daniel Sedin
    RW: Corey Perry
    D: Nicklas Lidstrom
    D: Kris Letang
    G: Henrik Lundqvist

    Pete’s lineup

    C: Eric Staal
    LW: Alexander Ovechkin
    RW: Martin St. Louis
    D: Dan Boyle
    D: Zdeno Chara
    G: Marc-Andre Fleury
