Animal rights group clears owner of 'panhandling pooch'
An animal rights group on Wednesday cleared the owner of the “panhandling pooch” after investigating the dog at her owner’s Queens home.
The dog, Coffee, sits outside Mets and Yankees games in team gear, accepting donations for pictures.
The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals looked into complaints it received about how the dog’s owner forced her to sit in poor conditions while wearing a shock collar, but the group said she showed “no signs of abuse or neglect.”
A couple who started a Facebook page called Stop Abusing Coffee said it wasn't concerned with her living conditions, but her conditions outside the games.
