At least seven injured in Queens fire, officials say
At least seven people were injured during an early morning fire Tuesday in Queens, officials said.
Three children and four firefighters were hurt in a one-alarm fire that broke out just after midnight in Ridgewood, fire and hospital officials said.
The kids were treated and released Tuesday from Elmhurst Hospital, a spokesman for the hospital said. The New York Post reported that they were hurt when they jumped out of a second-story window to escape the blaze, but an FDNY spokesman could not confirm the cause for their injuries. The four firefighters were treated at Wyckoff Hospital for minor injuries, he said.
About 60 firefighters were able to put out the fire in the three-story home after less than a half-hour, according to the FDNY. The cause of the fire was still under investigation last night.
