Atlantic City under water as Hurricane Sandy closes in

Most of Atlantic City is under water as Hurricane Sandy began battering the East Coast Monday with fierce winds and driving rain.
While the center of the storm was not expected to make landfall until Monday night near the New Jersey shore town, it was already creating dangerous conditions and forcing rescue workers into action.
According to the Associated Press, conditions are expected to worsen for Atlantic City -- which is mostly under water due to rising waters -- during Monday's evening tide.
The city, including its famous casinos, was ordered to be evacuated on Sunday.
For the most part, the historic boardwalk has not been damaged from rising floodwaters, except for an old section at the north end that has washed away, according to the AP.
