Aurora survivor joins mayor in call for prez candidates to stop gun violence
A survivor of the Aurora, Colo., shooting met with the mayor Wednesday to help push the presidential candidates to do more to curb gun violence.
Steve Barton stars in a commercial created by the coalition Mayors Against Illegal Guns, which was founded by Mayor Michael Bloomberg, that reminds voters that 48,000 Americans will die in the next four years.
Barton, who was shot in the neck and left arm during the July 20 shooting that left 12 people dead, said he and the mayor share the same concern that both candidates have not been vocal enough about illegal gun prevalence.
"They're asking to be elected to the highest office in the country and this is one of its biggest problems," he said outside City Hall.
