City officials confirmed that a new bike sharing program, originally set to begin this month, wouldn't start until August.
"We're working on the launch plan and will update the public as soon as we finalize all the details," said Seth Solomonow, a spokesman for the city's transportation department.
The agency had been hinting at the delay on Twitter for more than a week, telling New Yorkers to "look for the launch in August."
Officials refused to offer a cause for the delay Tuesday.
