Blasting finished at 72nd Street station for Second Ave. Subway: MTA
The Second Avenue Subway is slowly coming along, as blasting at the 72nd Street station along the line finished last Thursday after more than two years, the MTA said Monday.
The station is part of a $4.45 billion extension of the Q train along Second Avenue, and will have three entrances, including two escalator entrances at 69th and 72nd streets, as well as 11 more escalators and five street-level ADA accessible elevators.
The new line is set to have to stations at 72nd, 86th and 96th streets, and is expected to open in December 2016, according to the MTA.
