Red is taking a very dark turn for fall.

The shade of the season is oxblood (a few shades deeper than burgundy), which was spied on fall 2012 runways of designers from Diane von Furstenberg to Peter Som, and has now become a style must-have.

Head-to-toe oxblood is a fashion-forward departure from an all-black look, but just one piece - either an accessory or garment - is also chic, paired with black or a lighter shade for some cool contrast.
