Bronchitis forces Barry Manilow to cancel shows
It was just past 6 p.m. on Tuesday night. I was heading to the St. James Theatre to review "Manilow on Broadway," which had a 7 p.m. curtain, when I got an email from the press agent saying the performance had been called off. I've never seen a cancellation happen that close to show time, and with critics set to attend, no less! Later that night, the singer revealed on Twitter that he canceled due to "bronchitis."
Performances through this weekend, including Thursday's opening night, were subsequently canceled on doctor's orders.
