Brooklyn couple busted for keeping alligator in apartment: Officials
Call in the special investi-gator.
A Brooklyn husband and wife were indicted for possession of weapons and drugs and for keeping an alligator in their Gravesend apartment on West Sixth Street, the Brooklyn District Attorney's office said Tuesday.
Police discovered the critter while searching the home of Michael Volpe, 32, and Alisa Volpe, 25, last October, where they found brass knuckles, a loaded revolver and pistol, prescription drugs, marijuana and, curiously, a 3-foot alligator in a tank in the living room, according to the DA's office.
The illegally kept reptile was taken away by animal control.
