The Brooklyn pizza chef who was seriously injured in knife fight with an ex-con was charged with attempted murder yesterday, the Brooklyn district attorney’s office said.

Mark Iacono, 44, owner of Lucali pizzeria in Carroll Gardens, was also indicted on assault and weapons charges. Benny Geritano, who allegedly stabbed Iacono, was arraigned Sunday on second-degree murder charges.

Geritano, 39, has 10 previous arrests and two murder charges, both of which he beat. He is reportedly on probation until 2013 on a federal racketeering charge.

Geritano, who was also wounded in the altercation and has alleged mobster ties, said he acted in self defense.

Lucali, a restaurant frequented by the likes of Jay-Z and Beyonce, which is consistently ranked one of the top pizza places in New York City.

Geritano is due back in court on May 21.

It was uncertain at press time when Iacono would be arraigned as he is still in the hospital recovering from his stab wounds.
