Bynes could be schizophrenic
Amanda Bynes is showing signs of schizophrenia, and her parents might seek a mental health conservatorship, according to reports.
Bynes, 27, is being held for involuntary psychiatric evaluation after reportedly setting a fire in the driveway of an elderly California woman's home.
Medical professionals will seek a two-week extension to her 72-hour psychiatric hold so doctors can properly diagnose the "Easy A" actress, TMZ.com reported yesterday. The gossip website and the Los Angeles Times reported that Bynes' parents might ask a judge to put her in a conservatorship, in which they would control Bynes' financial and medical decisions.
Adding to Monday's incident, Bynes accidentally doused her pet Pomeranian with gasoline while allegedly setting the fire, TMZ reported. Prosecutors will not charge her in connection with the fire, officials told TMZ.
