  • Central Park carousel may come to a halt next week

Central Park’s iconic carousel may not be going ’round and ’round come next week.

The city hastily terminated the lease with the carousel’s current operator, New York One, LLC, which will stop running the ride as of Monday. The Parks Department has not yet found a replacement.

A parks spokeswoman, Cristina DeLuca, would not say why the city ended the contract but conceded it is unlikely a new concessionaire can be lined up before Tuesday.

Calls to New York One were not returned Wednesday.

The city initially issued a request for proposals to run the carousel on Feb. 11 but received no response so it reissued them this week.

During the winter months, the carousel is open from 10 a.m. to dusk, weather permitting.
