Charlie Sheen apologizes for his 'cringeable' year
What's more surprising: The fact that Charlie Sheen managed to get himself another TV gig after his infamous goddess-inflected, tiger-blood filled winning meltdown, or the fact the supposedly sober actor admitted to still boozing? The former "Two and a Half Men" star, 46, sat down with "Today" anchor Matt Lauer Thursday to promote his new FX series "Anger Management" and, naturally, pulled the faux-contrition card and claimed he didn't recognize himself after watching footage of his "cringeable" rants during his absurd "Torpedo of Truth" tour.
The overtly twitchy, seemingly manic actor also admitted he still takes a drink occasionally despite his well-documented struggles with substance abuse. Lauer said, "You've admitted issues with drugs: I don't know one addiction specialist who would tell a guy in your position, 'It's OK to drink."
"Well, if you do, I should probably go to that guy!" Sheen awkwardly quipped. "I have different theories about the whole thing: One of them is, 'Park near the VIP exit!'"
Wow. Best of luck, FX.
