Japan Week celebration
There's far more to Japan than sushi. Learn everything you need to know about Japanese culture and food at Japan Week, which kicks off at Grand Central Terminal today and will be featuring a series of events through Saturday. Stop by to experience ice sculpting by Okamoto Studio and koto music performances; take part in a Japanese tea ceremony and learn how to use green tea in your cooking; stick around for various demonstrations on how to make staple Japanese dishes by chefs from popular restaurants in New York and Japan; watch the Sakai City Cutlery Association properly sharpen Japanese knives; and take a gander at the kimono fashion show and some Japanese art. 'Elizabeth Turk: Cages'
If you're into art of the sculpting variety, stop by the Hirschl & Adler Modern gallery this month to gaze at award-winning sculptor Elizabeth Turk's latest exhibition, "Elizabeth Turk: Cages." This is Turk's third solo exhibit and features her sculptural works made of marble. The exhibit runs through March 31.
