Chelsea dad peddled drugs, guns out of baby stroller: prosecutors
A Chelsea dad is accused of having more than diapers and baby formula in his daughter’s stroller.
Epifanio Santiago, 44, allegedly brought his infant daughter to a drug sale in June, where prosecutors said he hid cocaine and heroin in his daughter’s stroller and diaper bag and sold them to undercover cops. He was arrested Tuesday night, after selling heroin, cocaine and a gun to an undercover cop, police said.
Santiago and three other men were charged with selling more than $11,000 worth of drugs and guns near a playground at the Chelsea Houses over a four-month period, the city's special narcotics prosecutor Bridget Brennan announced Wednesday.
Santiago, Deion Alonzo, 23, David Rodriguez, 18, and Carmelo Ortiz, 42, were slapped with drug, weapons and child endangerment charges. It was not immediately clear if they had lawyers.
