After more than three years and $66.8 million of work, Section 2 of Chelsea's High Line Park will officially open next Wednesday, Friends of the High Line announced Tuesday.

The new section runs from 20th Street to 30th Street along 10th Avenue, and features a series of new design elements including an elevated catwalk and a cutout that shows the park's structure.

The park, which is a converted elevated railroad line, opened its first section in 2009. Work for Section 3, which would wrap around 12th avenue onto 34th Street, is still in negotiations.
