  • Classic signs ruined by 99-cent shop's mega mural

    A few weeks back, we told you about these great old hand-painted ghost signs that surfaced in Herald Square recently.

    Well, take a good look at the picture above. It's a part of history now.

    In the weeks since, Jack's 99 Cent shop painted a huge mural on the side of the West 32nd Street building, and most of the signs disappeared under the new coat of paint.

    We thought those signs were certainly worth more than 99 cents. In fact, they were priceless. But apparently, they're worth nothing at all.
