Cops find 513 pounds of pot during traffic stop in Queens
A bumbling ex-con was found with a whopping 513 pounds of pot after they pulled him over for traffic violations early today, police said.
Police found the alleged stash hidden in a folded-down backseat in the van.
Clement Hunter, 30, of Queens, first caught the attention of cops in St. Albans at 4 a.m. today when he ran a red light and turned without signaling, police said.
Cops chased the 2010 white Dodge Caravan for a few blocks before Hunter ditched the van and allegedly tried to run away. They got hold of him when he tried to climb a fence, police said.
Soon after, they found the stash.
Hunter was charged with criminal possession of marijuana, reckless endangerment, and criminal possession of stolen property, all felonies. He is also charged with resisting arrest, among other charges.
The van was rented, but not in his name, police said. Hunter has four prior convictions, including gun charges, police said. He was scheduled to be arraigned today.
