Customs officers at JFK find $1 million in bogus money orders
Customs officers at Kennedy Airport intercepted about $1 million in bogus money orders, officials said Monday.
While inspecting packages earlier this month, officers found a "bulky envelope" from Ghana stuffed with the money orders, customs officials said.
Many of the orders were printed with Chase bank, CVS and U.S. Postal Service logos.
Customs spokesman Anthony Bucci said he was unsure what the envelope's intended destination was, but said it was "most likely somewhere here on the East Coast."
No suspects were identified and the investigation is ongoing, Bucci said.
