Despite rain, Occupy Wall Street protest continues

Rain may have dampened the mood at Zuccotti Park Wednesday, but hundreds of Occupy Wall Street protesters kept busy by sweeping, sealing off makeshift tents and playing in smaller-than-normal drum circles.
Workers still served lunches of bagels, PB&J sandwiches and chips as the wind wreaked havoc on a tarp covering the meals.
“It’s very difficult because everything is soaked, we’re trying to keep the tarps from becoming like sails and flying away,” said Sean Dolan, 48, of Providence, R.I., who said he stayed up through the night erecting the kitchen’s temporary roof, adding, “I can’t wait for this day to end.”
Other developments:
— Alec Baldwin stopped by Zuccotti Park for a couple of hours early Wednesday. He later tweeted that protesters should “coalesce around some legislative policy,” suggesting campaign finance report as a good place to start.— Author Naomi Wolf was arrested Tuesday night outside an event she had attended where Gov. Andrew Cuomo was expected to be. In a YouTube video, a police official is heard asking her to “stand down or be arrested,” for standing on the sidewalk.
— A group protesting NYPD’s “stop-and-frisks” will march Thursday afternoon from Washington Heights to Zuccotti Park.
— Real World: Zuccotti Park? A casting call for the MTV show was posted on Craigslist earlier this week, asking for people from Occupy Wall Street to send over their headshots.
