Dharun Ravi scheduled for sentencing in Rutgers webcam case
The Rutgers student convicted in March for using his webcam to spy on his gay roommate is set to be sentenced Monday in New Jersey.
Dharun Ravi, 20, faces up to 10 years in prison on various criminal counts, including invasion of privacy, and deportation for using his camera to watch Tyler Clementi kiss another man in their shared dorm. Clementi discovered the spying and eventually committed suicide by jumping off the George Washington Bridge.
Molly Wei, who was watching the encounter with Ravi, took a plea deal and avoided jail time by testifying against Ravi.
