"Diddy" dishing out free cab rides on New Year's Eve
Sean “Diddy” Combs wants your drunken revelry on New Year’s Eve to end safely.
For the second year, the music mogul is sponsoring the distribution of thousands of $15 vouchers for cab rides, along with $2.25 MetroCards. The goodies will be handed out from 8 to 11 p.m. on Thursday around Chelsea and the Meatpacking District as a promotion for CIROC Vodka, which Combs represents.
“A sophisticated holiday celebration doesn't end when the ball drops, but when everyone gets home safely,” Combs said in a statement.
The giveaway is endorsed by the city Taxi and Limousine Commission and is meant to emphasize social responsibility, Combs said. A few thousand taxi vouchers were distributed last year.
