    Police are asking for the public’s help in solving the fatal shooting of a popular rap DJ who was killed a few doors away from his home in Clifton, Staten Island early yesterday.

    Corey McGriff, who went by the name DJ Megatron and appeared on BET and performed in city clubs, was pronounced dead at the scene a little after 2 a.m.

    “It looks like he was just walking alone and became a victim,” a police source said.

    McGriff, 32, had hosted episodes and served as in-house DJ for the BET show“106 and Park.” He also hosted BET’s internet show “On Blast.”

    According to his Facebook page, he met his mentors Funkmaster Flex and Fatman Scoop while doing a stint at HOT 97.1 FM. His movie appearances include “State Property 2” (2005) with Damon Dash and “Killa Season” (2006) with Cam’ron and Juelz Santana.
