The hotel maid accusing ex-IMF chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn of sexual assault met with prosecutors Wednesday to try save her weakening case, days after her media blitz to tell her side of the story.

Nafissatou Diallo, 32, visited the Manhattan District Attorney's office with her attorney Ken Thompson. Prosecutors are unsure whether to move forward with the case after they found several discrepancies in Diallo's account of her past and of events immediately after the alleged assault.

The DA's office declined to confirm or comment on the meeting.

Strauss-Kahn, 62, was seen as the frontrunner for France's upcoming presidential election before his arrest in May on charges that he forced Diallo to perform oral sex in his Manhattan hotel suite.
