Edwards defense tries to paint ex-aide Andrew Young as a profiteer

John Edwards' defense team tried to show Thursday that Edwards was not seeking to skirt campaign finance laws, but to avoid the wrath of this wife, the now deceased Elizabeth Edwards, by using ex-Edwards aide Andrew Young and his wife to funnel money to Edwards' mistress Rielle Hunter.
In Young's fourth day on the stand in the conspiracy case involving more than $725,000 of allegedly illegal campaign contributions leading up to the 2008 election, defense lawyers insinuated Young hoped to profit himself from the scandal, said ABC News.
