Firefighters, cops injured battling Bronx blaze
A four alarm fire wrecked a South Bronx building Sunday morning.
Five first responders -- three firefighters and two cops -- suffered minor injuries and were sent to Lincoln Hospital, the FDNY said.
About 168 members of New York's Bravest from 39 units responded to the scene at 603 Jackson Ave around 10:45 a.m. Tenants who lived in the apartments evacuated without injury, according to a fire department spokesman.
The cause of the fire was still under investigation as of Sunday afternoon, the spokesman said.
