Full service on Metro-North railroad back Wednesday
Connecticut commuters will be back on the rails with full service on Metro-North Railroad Wednesday morning, after the train crash on the New Haven line during the weekend, the MTA said Monday.
Metro-North President Howard Permut said there are about 100 crew members working around the clock to prepare the damaged New Haven line for Wednesday morning’s rush.
The Friday evening train accident created a commuting headache for Connecticut residents, who were encouraged to carpool or stay at home.
The accident occurred shortly after 6 p.m. Friday, when a New Haven-bound passenger train derailed in Bridgeport and was hit by a westbound passenger train due for Grand Central Terminal.
