Giants must find consistency

Few are as inconsistent. Even on a rare day in which Robert Griffin III wasn't quite as awesome (13 of 21, 163 yards and a TD plus five carries for 72 yards), the Redskins won 17-16 on Monday to keep within a game of the Giants. Big Blue will need to be at the top of its game Sunday afternoon when it hosts the Saints.
Here are a few keys to the matchup.
Limit mental errors
All of the Giants offensive studs had a good night in Washington. The trouble was the offense kept stalling thanks to some poorly timed penalties. Penalties are often a symptom of poor coaching, but Tom Coughlin is a good coach with two Super Bowl rings. Expect his team to commit far fewer than the nine penalties they were flagged for on Monday.Killer Brees
Even the greats have a bad game, and Drew Brees had his worst last week in a 23-13 loss to the Atlanta Falcons. He threw five picks and failed to throw a TD pass for the first time since 2009. If the Giants expect that version of Brees on Sunday, they better think again. Brees will come out throwing, and most weeks, that's tough for any team to stop.Sack lunch time
One of the reasons Brees has been so successful over the years is he stays upright. He's only been sacked 22 times in 12 games this year, which puts him on the lower-end of this year's starters. The Giants pass rush hasn't been as mighty as it has in the past, but a big game against a good offensive line could become a turning point for Jason Pierre-Paul and company.
