The digerati have spoken, and Joseph Leonard is the best restaurant in New York City.

That's according to location-based social network Foursquare's "Best of New York" list, which calculated the city's top spots based on tens of millions of "check-ins" -- users sharing their location with friends -- tips and ratings.

Other bests include Otto Enoteca Pizzeria for pizza, Stumpton Coffee Roasters for coffee, The Bell House for music venues and Central Park for the great outdoors.

Andrew Hogue, who works at Foursquare and directly helped with the project, said New York's diversity set it apart from other cities.

"Other cities probably have one category where they're really excellent," Hogue said.

"But New York kind of had a little bit of everything, and it was actually kind of hard to narrow down the bests, whereas with other cities we didn't have so many options to choose from," he added.

Paul Kermizian, an owner of the top bar Barcade, said that the spot's "pretty hip, cool" demographic overlaps with Foursquare users.

"It's great," he said. "I think we just attract, being a videogame bar, we just attract people that are into technology and things like Foursquare."

Shelley Bernstein, chief of technology at the Brooklyn Museum, which ranked as the city's top museum, said "we couldn't be more honored to be rated so highly by this community."

"The platform celebrates our visitors," she said.
