So you're having friends over to watch the game. Here are some tips to make sure it goes off without a hitch.

    1. Booze is important
Always get one more bottle or one more case than you think you'll need. Trust us, your friends will thank you for it.

    2. People need a place to sit
Round up as many seats, benches, low-to-the-ground tables and bean bag chairs as you can find. Sitting on the floor is inevitable, but the fewer people bearing the hard ground, the better.

    3. Mix up your menu
Shake things up in the kitchen for Super Bowl Sunday. Sure, you need classics like sandwiches, wings and nachos. But if you're cooking yourself, impress your friends by throwing in an unexpected ingredient. Try diced radishes for nachos and sri racha or wasabi mayo for sandwiches.

    4. Be proactive
Your guests will ask you what they can bring to share. Tell them specifically what you'll need, and your spread will be more well-rounded.

    5. Play a game (while watching THE game)
Not everyone loves football enough to watch the entire thing with gusto, so a simple drinking game or trivia game will keep all your guests entertained the whole night long.
