The fiance of U.S. women's soccer team goalkeeper Hope Solo was arrested early Monday on suspicion of assaulting her a day before they were to be wed, according to police and court records.

Jerramy Stevens, a former NFL tight end, was released by a municipal court judge in Kirkland, Wash., after appearing in court Tuesday afternoon.

Dave Mahler of KJR Radio in Seattle reported the couple, who has been in a relationship for two months, still exchanged vows Tuesday night.

If the two are married, it could further complicate the investigation. "If the parties are not cooperating, it's not ideal," Lieutenant Mike Murray told USA Today.
