Jayne Mae Baker expected to take deal that will keep her out of jail: Reports
The alleged sidekick of "Millionaire Madam" Anna Gristina has cut a deal with prosecutors that will keep her out of jail, according to published reports.
Jaynie Mae Baker, 30, along with Gristina, 43, is accused of helping to run a multimillion-dollar prostitution ring out of an East 78th Street apartment. Both women have pleaded not guilty.
Baker's alleged deal does not involve any jail time, reports said, but it's unknown whether she will have to testify against Gristina.
The two women had a joint hearing Thursday at which their attorneys would try to have the charges dropped, but Baker will no longer appear, Gristina's attorney, Norman Pattis, told amNewYork.
"I only know that [Baker] will not be there," Pattis said. "I am assuming it is because a deal has been struck."
When asked how Baker's presumed deal could affect Gristina's case, Pattis said he will "have to work harder to win."
The Manhattan district attorney's office declined to comment.
Gristina and Baker have denied running a prostitution ring since their arrest in March, saying that they ran a legitimate matchmaking service.
Prosecutors have charged that the women made millions of dollars arranging hookups between prostitutes and high-powered clients.
Baker's attorney did not return calls for comment.
