Jeremy Lin, Tim Tebow make Time magazine's list of most influential
New York sports icons Jeremy Lin and Tim Tebow made Time magazine's list of the 100 most influential people in the world, two of the six sports figures chosen for the annual honor roll.
The two stars, both relatively new to the city's sports scene, join other New Yorkers recognized this year including Gov. Andrew Cuomo, Kristen Wiig and Cardinal Timothy Dolan.
Each influencer's entry is paired with a small profile written by another influential person, and Tebow’s was fittingly penned by Lin. (Lin's profiler, U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan, is a fellow Harvard basketball alum.)
“Watching Tim Tebow play football, you can observe many things about his character,” Lin wrote of the Jets’ new backup quarterback. “You see his fierce competitiveness, his strong work ethic and how he is a leader that his teammates trust and respect.”
