JFK Airport security workers OK plan to strike next week
A holiday strike by Kennedy Airport's security workers is now one step closer to reality.
The 300 non-union workers, who check tarmacs and gates, approved a plan Thursday to strike on Dec. 20 if their bosses don't meet their needs.
The workers, backed by SEIU, say they need better training and equipment in order to avoid serious security gaps at the airport.
Air Serv and Global Elite, who employ the workers, said they are open to working to meet their employees' needs and avoid any problems for fliers.
