According to a news release we received Monday, it seems John Legend is set to join the all-star cast of ABC's "Duets," the network's answer to "American Idol." It's been reported that the series will follow Lionel Richie, Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Nettles and Robin Thicke as they travel the U.S. in search of a singing partner, although Richie's name was notably absent from the release, prompting us to believe Legend is set to replace him.

"I'm thrilled to be part of 'Duets' and I'm looking forward to finding an undiscovered gem out there," the R&B singer said in the release. ABC didn't return our inquiries.
