Ziegfeld misspelled in trailer for Luhrmann's 'Gatsby'
Musical theater junkies are up at arms over a big typo in the newly unveiled trailer of Baz Luhrmann's upcoming film version of "The Great Gatsby." According to Playbill.com, "Wicked" producer Marc Platt is attached to the project, which received an industry reading last year.
Beatles origin story to be told on Broadway
Seeing as the Beatles tribute concert "Rain" has already played Broadway, why not a Beatles origin story? "Backbeat," a London musical about the band's beginnings in 1960, will have a regional tryout in Los Angeles followed by a Broadway run. David Leveaux, a once very popular British director (at least until he ruined "Fiddler on the Roof" back in 2004), will stage it. It's based on the 1994 film of the same name starring Stephen Dorff as Stuart Sutcliffe and Ian Hart as John Lennon.
