I love wearing orange (coral, peach, rust and tangerine, too), but I want to mix reds into my wardrobe. What kind of red hues will look great with the orange pieces I already own? I don't want to be hired for the circus, but I do enjoy being colorful!
-- Madeline A., Astoria
An orange top and red jeans is fun, spirited and trendy. You can also pair orange pants with a red print blouse, or rock pale peach pants with a loose and easy red top. Accessories are the easiest way to add color. Pair red shoes with a dress you already own. Or you can simply paint your nails red - it's an easy and inexpensive way to upgrade your look.
Help! I walk 20 blocks to work every day, and need suggestions for comfortable and affordable - yet still fashionable - spring shoes I can wear every day.
-- Maria C., midtown
Sam Edelman makes fun and comfortable padded shoes that don't break the bank but that speak to the spring trends. I'm not a fan of seeing the "sneaker-wearing working woman" look on the streets, but if you really need a sneaker, go for something cool like neon Nikes or colorful Converse or Vans.
When is it too late in the season for opaque tights? And can you recommend any transitional legwear that is work-appropriate? Are nude stockings completely out of style?
-- Tracy W., Upper East Side
Nude stockings made a comeback with Duchess Kate Middleton (she's typically seen wearing them). To finish a work look, go ladylike with a sheer black pair. Check out Wolford, which offers several chic sheer styles ($30-$50/pair) for inspiration.
Prom is coming up and I'm beginning to freak out because I don't have a dress yet! The problem is, I have no idea where to find one. I've tried my search online, but I don't really like what I've seen so far. I have seen a couple of dresses that I do like, but they were on celebrities and I feel like I couldn't find those. I was hoping you might be able to give me some ideas.

To my prom, I wore a vintage dress. There are so many gorgeous lace gowns at vintage stores -- and you'll be the only one at prom wearing the style! Try Cheap Jack's (303 Fifth Ave., 212-777-9564), Beacon's Closet (10 W. 13th St., 917-261-4863) or No Relation Vintage (204 First Ave., 212-228-5201).
