Kristen Stewart isn't hiding from scandal - she's apologizing for it.

Wednesday, the "Twilight" starlet admitted to cheating on her boyfriend of three years, Robert Pattinson - also her on-screen love - with her married "Snow White and the Huntsman" director Rupert Sanders.

Stewart released her emotional public statement after a scathing Us Weekly report released details of the trysts between Stewart, 22, and Sanders, 41, as well as steamy photos of them kissing and looking very cozy.

"I'm deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I've caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected. This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I'm so sorry," she said in a statement.

Sanders - who has two young children with wife Liberty Ross, a model - also issued an apology Wednesday: "My beautiful wife and heavenly children are all I have in this world. I love them with all my heart. I am praying that we can get through this together."

So far, Pattinson, 26, has stayed mum on the situation.
