Music mogul L.A. Reid sang newest "American Idol" judge Mariah Carey's praises at a celeb-packed event supporting Art for Life at Russell Simmons' house on Saturday.

He also dished on Demi Lovato and Britney Spears, the newest additions to his "The X-Factor" judges' table.

"They're really good," Reid said. "You know Demi is really smart and knowledgeable for someone [who's] 19 years old. She's amazingly smart, she does a great job judging and she's really funny. I forget that she's 19 most of the time because she's so witty and so funny."

"And Britney is amazing. You know [she] is a pop icon for many, many years and she has strong opinions. The truth is I think Britney may be the meanest of all of us," Reid said, noting that Brit is even meaner at the judges' table than former "American Idol" judge and "X-Factor" creator Simon Cowell. "She's not a mean person but [she's] just very strong and very opinionated and something to watch."

Celebs at the event included Carey and hubby Nick Cannon, Anita Baker, Salt-N-Pepa, Soledad O'Brien, Rev Run, Michael Kenneth Williams, Babyface, Grant Hill, Jill Zarin, Melanie Fiona and Jonathan Cheban.
