Lawyer says Tom Cruise 'had nothing to hide'
Tom Cruise's lawyer is saying the "Mission Impossible" is an open book.
Cruise's lawyer, Bert Fields, is shooting down reports that Cruise settled his recent divorce case with Katie Holmes so quickly because Cruise didn't want Holmes to spill any dirt in court.
"Tom had nothing to hide and did nothing in the agreement to hide anything," Fields told TMZ.com. "People are just making this stuff up."
As for the former couple's 6-year-old daughter, Suri, Fields said Cruise "will definitely have a meaningful relationship with his daughter, but I can't talk about specifics of the agreement."
Holmes reportedly filed for divorce from her hubby of six years because of his affiliation with the controversial Church of Scientology, not wanting Suri raised in that environment. Holmes and Suri are now living in Chelsea in a pad that reportedly rents for $12,500 a month.
"I don't think Tom is bitter," Fields said. "He's sad it came to this."
Cruise, 50, and Holmes, 33, reached a settlement on Monday; Holmes filed for divorce on June 28.
